Anthony John Connolly
He was born on the 5th of October 1958 and died on the 19th of October 2006 after a 3 month battle
in hospital.He was 48 years old when he was took away from us.
God only takes the best, and the day my dad was took away from us, God must have been looking for an
extra special angel and he certainly has gained one.
My dad Tony (my best friend) was born in Gateshead and throughout his life, lived in different
parts of Gateshead, mainly in Low Fell. He worked as a printer and had his own printing buisness,
aswell as doing Northern Soul DJ'n at Wigan Casino.
When he was younger, he used to organise and run trips from Gateshead to Wigan Casino, so he was
very well known and respected.This was proved when 600+ people turned up at his funeral. We held a
northern soul disco on the night of his funeral and the only thing that was missing was him
(the greatest dancer). One of his greatest talents was his northern soul dancing, when i was younger
he would pour talc over the floor and northern soul, he used to try so hard to teach me how to do it
but i never quite got the hang of it, he used to laugh and say i had two left feet. Before the disco
we held for him, me and my cousin Nicola practised till we got the hang of it and i and i know he
would of been proud, watching down on us northern souling as he used to say we both had two left
feet and he would call Nicola "Aveline" as she always wears high shoes, he would tell her
she would never be able to northern soul in high shoes but she managed at the disco, he would of
been looking down on us and laughing.
In april this year, there was a northern disco held in his memory and i know he really would have
been ther, dancing next to, he really was the greatest dancer.
Everyone who knew or met my dad had lots of respect for him as he was such a gentleman and got
along with everyone.
Although he only lived such a short life, he achieved so much and had a fun and exciting life. He
is missed dearly by me and my little brother Michael, his sister Julie, brother Shaun, neice Nicola,
and nephew Joseph aswell as good friend Jackie who also has a page on here for him, and not
forgetting all other family and friends.
Not a day goes by when he isnt in our thoughts, he is missed terribly but is now at peace and he
has joined his mam, dad, gran and other friends and family up there.

Luther Vandross-So amazing- This was a song he loved, it was his wedding song aswell as funeral
song.

Hi there babe, hows my Uncle Tony doing. Well its not looking good for our Shaun, things just go from bad to worse in this family. We been called in the family room where the called us for you to say our Shauns heart was failing. God Uncle Tony as if we aint got enough to deal with, its your birthday memory coming up on Sunday then your death memory 2 weeks later. Hey there big fella you would of only been the big 50. I wish you were here to keep us all strong with our Shaun. Honest to god its unreal what drink can do to people, what i seen like you go through, god that was hard enough, but seeing Shaun go through it but in a dif way is bringing it all back and making it double the pain. You can try and explain to people what its like to watch there loved ones suffer, but till the see it for there own eyes the will never no the pain. Seeing tubes and linesafter lines feeding you is unbearable. I just pray he makes it. I no hes a skinny little one but i hope hes got the strenghth to do it. Hi there my Angel. Well no change with our Shaun babe. Its still bringing it all back, its the same ward, same bed, same nurses and nearly the same month. You no what the nurses remembered us coz of you. The said that you went through the mill, god did you not, will you plzzzzzzzz try and not let our Shaun go through the same. Well hi there angel in the sky, so so sorry i havnt been on for a good while but i never knew how to go about this new site, and also i never had a comp. Well its your birthday coming up you would of been only 50 yrs old god what a shame so young. God Uncle Tony i miss you so much its 2 years nearly and it has just passed away like it was yesterday, the pain in our hearts is unreal, my mam is aching 4 you, you are a total miss, my little SUPERSTAR. Got our Dionne staying through tonight, (hence me being on ya site) ha she had to set it up for me. Well our Shaun is really really bad this time got some really bad news on Fri last week, its left us all devastated.
